Dr. Lisa Challberg, a Maryland native, joined Muddy Branch Veterinary Center in October 2013. She graduated from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR in 2005, and came back east to attend veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Challberg’s veterinary interests are wide ranging, but she is particularly excited about preventative care, multimodal pain management, geriatric medicine, and dentistry. Dr. Challberg has been practicing acupuncture for a number of years, and is very excited to have recently completed her CCRT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist), thus adding rehabilitation to her repertoire. Both acupuncture and rehabilitation are helpful in treating a wide variety of conditions, from injuries and chronic pain to gastrointestinal and urinary issues! Please make sure to ask if you think your pet might benefit from these types of treatments. In her spare time, Dr. Challberg enjoys reading, travelling, and all varieties of outdoor activities, including horseback riding, running, hiking, and telemark skiing.
