
Veterinarian
Dr. Rachel Dercher is originally from Dallas, Texas. She traveled to the Northeast for her undergraduate studies at Franklin & Marshall College where she earned a degree in Biological Foundations of Behavior. She returned to Texas to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Texas A&M University (TAMU) in 2012. She met her now husband, Andrew, while they were both attending TAMU.
Dr. Dercher received her post-graduate training at VCA Southpaws in Fairfax, Virginia during a rotating internship in small-animal medicine and surgery. Afterwards, she moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia and worked at a small-animal hospital in Glenmoore, PA for four years.
In 2017, she moved to Southeast Florida where she worked at a small-animal hospital before she transferred to providing relief services to clinics in the area. During the pandemic, her family relocated to Montgomery County, MD and she provided relief services to clinics in Maryland. She is excited to join the Muddy Branch Veterinary Center team. Her professional interests are dermatology and preventative medicine.
Dr. Dercher currently lives in Gaithersburg with her husband, daughters, and sheltie (Franklin). In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working out, finding new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
